Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Can someone eplain the rules behing the dial-ahead feature on the Smartphone? When I dial the first few numbers or first few letters of a person's name...all of my choices expected do not show up. I have quite a few numbers that start with 609 but only some show. Then at a later time...others show as well. is this a bug or something I'm not understanding? Thanks, Nick
Guest kingbing Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 The T9 alike dialling works either by matching the name of the contact or the default number (including email address). So, if you have a mobile number set of 123, but a home number of 456, and the home number is set as the default number, then typing 123 will not match this contact. Just to be awkward, the matching doesn't take international number formats into consideration - it only matches what's there with what's typed in. So if the mobile number is in international format (so SMS + MMS messages display the contact name), you have to type +44...
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Still inconsistent at times....hmmmmmmmmmm. Queer.
