Volume control useable when handset is locked

When my handset is locked using the security pin I can still adjust the volume. Surely this can't be right?!?!

However, If I lock the keypad by holding down the hangup button then I can't use the volume controls.

This is really irritating as the volume gets turned down when carrying the phone about or when holding it by accident.

Any ideas?

no its not. But that isn't the point. It seems that there is a flaw in the implementation of the automatic lock as it shouldn't allow the volume control buttons to function. Thats all. Not an issue of how to get around it.

Also, the automatic pin lock is secure whereas the manually instigated keypad lock is not. Just depends on what sort of stuff you have on your phone i guess.

Its worse than that, if your phone is locked (as most are when not in use) when a call comes in you can press Accept but then all the keys lock again.

If I want to go to speakerphone or change the volume then I have to unlock first then adjust and if its a long call I forget to lock the phone only to find that I have been con the Orange Answer phone for 20mins cos the button pressed.

Its just as bad when a message arrives you have to unlock your phone to read the message then lock after.

My last phone was a Sagem, if a call or message came in then you could use all the keys, do whatever you needed and when you exited the message menu or closed the call hey presto all the keys where locked again.

Been so long I cant remember what used to happen on my Nokia, but as he says its a real pain.

Come Orange sort it out, I cant be the only one.
