Guest th0mz Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Yeah I grabbed the Action Register application that appears when the OTA site displays the error message, and used it on my SPV to register my phone number again. Then the OTA decert worked like a charm!

Guest martin Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 When you get the error 'Sorry, but we cannot find the IMEI and mobile phone number you have entered on our database. Please check all the details above carefully & click OK' then just click the OK button again. Two consecutive IMEI errors will automatically give a download page for the Action register application. :)
Guest mamep Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 martin thx but i've already tried it.. well at least i unlocked my phone with the help of John Wolfe from orange ;) here we go I am including a pre-release version of Action Register, an application that will allow you to directly get unlocking commands from our servers, without waiting for the SMS messages. Please do the following steps on your SPV. (1) Connect your SPV to your desktop computer (2) From the desktop's ActiveSync application, press the Explore button to bring up a file explorer (3) Navigate to the Mobile DeviceMy SmartphoneIPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories (4) Copy the AERegister.ARM.CAB file to this directory on your SPV (5) Now go to your SPV, and starting from the Home Screen, press the Programs soft key to bring up the programs menu (6) Find the folder Accessories, and open it (7) Find the AERegister.ARM application and run it by highlighting the program name and pressing the Action key (in the middle of the up/down/left/right navigation keys) (8) This will bring up an application installation window (9) When your SPV says "AERegister.ARM.CAB was successfully installed on your device.", press the OK button (10) Now press the Home soft key to get back to the Home Screen (11) Press the Programs soft key to bring up the programs menu (12) Find and run the "Action Register" application (13) Verify that your mobile phone number is correct, and in the form of "+" then a country code then your number. (14) Press the Options soft key to bring up a menu with the selections "Register", "Get Commands", and "Quit" (15) Select the "Register" command, and notice that text toward the top of the screen that says "Registering device to the network" (16) When that text goes away, verify that the screen of the Action Register application says "Registered: Yes" (17) If the screen on the Action Register application does not say "Registered: Yes", then verify that your SPV has a working network connection by starting the Pocket Internet Explorer and surfing to a web page. NOTE: If you can not surf to a web page with Pocket Internet Explorer, you MUST correct this problem before you can unlock your SPV. Once you have corrected this problem, start again from step (10). (18) From your desktop, go to the unlocking web pages and request that your SPV be unlocked. Here is the URL for entering into the unlocking web pages: http://developers.orange.com/workingwith/2003/03/04/Unlocking/ (19) As soon as you see the page that says "Your SPV will be unlocked shortly", then go back to your SPV and the Action Register application. (20) Press the "Get Cmds" soft key to cause the Action Register application to go to the Action Engine distribution machines and gather the unlocking command. NOTE: This might take a minute, so be patient. You should eventually see the web page stating that "Your SPV has been unlocked." Let me know how this works for you! Sincerely, John Wolfe [email protected] you can send me a pm for the tool :)
Guest ferret Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Same prob here with replacement handset (last one reset itself to 12pm , 11/02/2003 on every reboot). Tried the Action Register, but still no luck :) We are currently having some problems with serving out the unlock commands. We have identified three main problem areas - (1) Matching of incoming IMEI and mobile phone data to entries in our database, (2) using Action Register to register your IMEI and mobile phone numbers, and (3) Retrieval of queued commands from our servers. At this time, we do not have a solution to these problems. However, it is our number one priority to get this process working properly again. I apologize for the difficulty in getting your SPV unlocked. When I know more, I will send you another note. Sincerely, John Wolfe [email protected] Looks like we'll just have to wait
