what was new in this update? smart doesn't care much technical info from their website. i don't see that "addict stk"-thing, too?! any enhancements anyone??

The MAIN new feature to it, is it sim-locks your phone to Smart. They list 3 added features, but they didn't do anything for me. Don't know about the addict menu, it didn't appear on mine, but that might have to do with an Smart Addict sim card and not the update anyway...

one thing i'd noticed when i upgraded to ROM version 1.50 was the increase in speed. :)

Were you doing it with the dummy card in the SD slot?

Has anyone resolved this when upgrading to SAP 1.50? :

"Error 116: Smartphone Identification Error

Cannot Identify Your Smartphone."

I've followed the instruction posted at SMART's website.

I even tried to install using a different PC.

Also, reverted back to version 1.3.78 then reinstalled version

1.50, same error pa din.

@spv_dman: You wnat a quick upgrade? Bring it to the SMART Wireless Center... they'll do the update in less than half the time. I heard they're using an SD card for the update.

I think that is the best step to do if you are having problem upgrading your phone software. :twisted:

anyone experience clock hang? i experienced this twice just couldn't remember if the first one occured during my 1.37 or both at 1.50. :roll: :)

but rebooting it saves the day tho ;)

try loading the upgrade at the canary tri-color screen. in which case, it wont be scanning the version/model id of your phone before it runs.

I tried that already, running the installer in the Canary tri-color screen, but no such luck either. Last bet would be ppcsurfr and Jassper23's suggestion :wink:

whats new with the SMS update? and has anyone been able to unlock the phone with the new update?

I dont really care about the STK thingy. The increase in speed would though. Pero if im locked again to smart i think i would just pass this update. :)

so does anyone have a rom 1.50 but sim-unlocked? or do you have to revert back to 137 and get stuck with it but at least it's unlocked?

yup... speeded things up, even the camera...

I guess its common sense now... you cant really rely on smart to give you reliable stuff regarding the SAP, they dont know anything!
