Guest martin Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Hi LEFTKOYL. Its good to more SPV users across the globe. I had a look on the internet and found the following page for GPRS info. http://www.talkman.gr/gprspanafon.htm I'm not sure what the GPRS WAP username and password is because I don't read Greek but the information is in the link above. Also, you don't necessarily need the GSM dialup connection but you can create this if you want it. On my UK Vodafone PAYT SIM, it does not seem to except WSP in the WAP addresses - only HTTP. You'll have to try both and see what happens. Good Luck and let us know if these settings work for access to both HTML and WML internet pages. Hi mpak I assume that you have the big G in the top centre of you phone. These settings should be for a contract SIM. Even though GPRS is activated on your account, you may need to contact your service provider and request the inclusion of Internet (HTML web browsing) and MMS services to your account. Smart users have successfully setup the SAP with the globe network and use the MMS OK. I would speak to a knowledgable customer service rep who can confirm all the data required below and also check that the WAP/INTERNET/MMS services have been activated on you account. Data required HTML BROWSER - GPRS CONNECTION WEB APN WEB USERNAME WEB PASSWORD WEB DNS1 (CAN BE 0.0.0.0) WEB DNS2 (CAN BE 0.0.0.0) WAP - PROXY CONENCTION WAP IP address WAP BROWSER - GPRS CONNECTION WAP APN WAP USERNAME WAP PASSWORD MMS - GPRS connection (this can be same as GPRS WAP data) MMS APN MMS username MMS password MMS setup MMS IP MMS MMSC Then apply the data to the following setup. Programs - Settings - Data Connections Menu - Edit connections Create proxy connection Description: WAP proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: WAP network Proxy (name:port): (WAP IP address) Type: WAP Username: blank Password: blank Create GPRS connection. Description: GPRS WEB Connects to: The Internet Access point: (WEB APN) User name: (WEB USERNAME) Password: (WEB PASSWORD) Primary DNS: (WEB DNS1) Secondary DNS: (WEB DNS2) IP address: (leave blank) Create GPRS connection. Successfully access http://www.google.com/wml site and use properties to comfirm Type=WML and protocol=HTTP Int.Explorer- de-tick 'auto' and make Select network=WAP Network Successfully access wsp://www.google.com/wml site and use properties to comfirm Type=WML and protocol=WSP Int.Explorer - tick 'auto detect settings' to allow either protocol to be used automatically. & good luck (you'll need it) :)
