Guest eyup Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Hi, Just asking before i ring orange. seams my SPV's "7" key is slowly but surely giving up on me! its been gradually losing its response and so i'm having to press it harder and harder to get it to work - as you can imagin its really annoying when i texting! :-( anyway has anyone else had similar problem and is it covered under warrenty? cant think it somet i done to the phone to make it this way esp as all other buttons seam ok. any possible quick fixes to stop me having to send my phone away? cheers for any help neil
Guest Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Dunno if you can get it fixed but my # key does the same - very annoying! If you bought the phone from Orange maybe you could get them to fix it?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 a while ago my Action button did the same, so I had same day replacement with Orange care :)
Guest eyup Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 yeah maybe i gonna have get orange care! of course for future accidents ;-) makes things easier aint it!
Guest Will Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 just had a replacement due to left softkey becoming unresponsive.. and i notice the new one seems to 'click' better than the old one. Will
Guest eyup Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 will - is that on orange care or under warrenty? did you have any hassle with claiming if under warrenty? unfortunately i really cannot be without a mobile for a few days if thats what would happen.
Guest Will Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 orange care.. Was surprised at how keen they were to give me a replacement.. nice and reassuring i guess (cancelled 3rd party a month ago, and signed up with orange care)... Will
Guest youngerpants Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Yup, my 4 is slowly giving up the ghost. I realise that I can get another through orange care, but goddamn, my phone is now so customised I just cant be bothered to rebuild it from scratch (kinda like re-installing Windows when things start to slow down... I know I should, just far too lazy)
Guest HelloDave Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Youngerpants- easy solution to not reinstalling everything. Backup your IPSM to the free 8mb SD you got with the phone and then load it back onto the replacement, then you won't lose any settings. It saved me a lot of hassle a few times :)
Guest squall Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 my spv is away to get repaired, so much for the old replaement under warrenty. i had an intermittent fault of loosing all sound, in and out of the phone (not so good for a phone!) and my left soft key was struggling too. just having to make do without my phone at the momoent. toilet breaks arent interesting anymore
Guest liam_spv Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003  my number 1 key went wonkey...thanks god for orange care :) but since then had 3 more new spv's :x but all ok at the mo apart from it slipped out off my hands at the weekend but its still working!
Guest egghead101 Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 My number 1 key is failing for the 3rd time. And the power button is harder to use as well.......a call to orange again but that means freshly installing everything,,,,arrrrrgggghhhhh
