REALLY need help

I just bought a SPV and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I have a pay and go orange UK sim in and all I wanna do is add the themes and stuff. I bought it with quite a few apps too and not all of them install.

Now I am having the problem of I can't explore inside the SPV where as I could before.

I trued to unlock it on Orange's website (I'm not sure why this needs to be done though :S) and nothing happened. I tsaid call failed which might be to do with the lack of gprs at the moment I think.

Someone PLEASE help me bother I break it :)

Update, the sync stuff is ok now, I can get into the phone :)

Goto Programs - settings - Data connections

Menu - Edit Connections - GPRS connections

make sure that Orange GPRS has Access point payginternet and Orange WAP and access point paygwap. In Data connections, 'Internet Conenction = Orange GPRS' and 'WAP connection=Orange WAP'. Goto Inernet explorer, Menu-options-Connections and tick ' auto detect settings'.

If you still can't get GPRS internet then try using a pass through connection to unock the phone. [http://www.developers.orange.com/forums/sh...?s=&threadid=65

Have you got Smartexplorer installed on the SPV ? (needs application unlocked phone)

If not, goto http://www.monolithix.org/SPV_software.html and download Smartexplorer to the PC and unzip file. Open 2 windows explorer sessions, one to the unzipped CAB file called smartexplorer_1.0b4.en on the PC and another session to Mobile Device - IPSM - Windows - Start Menu - Accessories. Copy the CAB file from the PC to mobile device Accessories folder. On the SPV phone itself goto Programs - accessories folder and click on file to install.

Right I just finished talking to a rather nice lady at Orange and she helped me as much as possible (and she has the phone) so all the settings for GPRS (payas you go) are corredt but I still get an error when trying to connect.

I upgraded the phone as she recommended at orange.co.uk although she said her phone had 1.7 something, I upgraded and it is still only a 1.3.5.6 on the rom op.

I also downloaded the Smartexplorer like you suggested Martin the only problem is I have unzipped it and inside is a xml file and to more zips. I'm a complete n00b and have NO idea what to do with this :S

Someone help me pls, I can't unlock the phone until the GPRS is sorted :)

You do not need GPRS to decert the phone, you can use the passthrough option.

to do this, on the phone go to ProgramsSettingsData connections and in the Internet connection

box choose Passthrough.

Now open Acticsync and go to Toolsoptions select rules and check Passthrough is set for the internet.

Now when the phone is plugged into the cradle you can connect the phone to the internet by using the

PC's connection, then you can go to Oranges OTA unlock site and decert your phone :)

She probably had 1.3.7, which meant she has the same version as you, but has downloaded the keyboard update using Orange Update.
