Guest Crispy Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Lots of people are having problems converting between Wave, mp3 and Wma formats. So heres a nifty way of doing it on your PC: 1. Install dBpowerAMP Music Converter (dMC) found here! 2. If you haven't got Windows Media player 9 installed, install these codecs. If you have WMP9 installed, you can skip this! 3. Install these Windows media plaugin for dBpowerAMP Music Converter found here! 4. Reboot 5. Now when you rightclick any supported audio file there will be a "convert to" option. Choose codec and set parameters and you're all done! You can also find more codecs for the converter here! Enjoy :)
Guest Coucou Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Very nice and easy, just had one problem which is that Windows Media Player allowed me to rip a CD but protected it, the converter won't now convert those files. Pardon me if I'm wrong but surely it's only illegal to distribute ripped files, not convert them. :?: I'm sure the problem is created by Media Player but is there no way round it?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Theres a setting in WMP9 options that turns file protection off...
Guest Coucou Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Oh yes, ahem. Don't use the pc for pleasure much... Thanks for that :)
