Guest Paul [MVP] Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 The new Flexis keyboard, which is to be sold by OrangeSmartPhone.com will have one very beneficial advantage, COPY AND PASTE! Using Shift-Arrows to highlight text and then CTRL-C to Copy and CTRL-V to Paste. Just like a PC !!! Also, the keyboard doesn't require the 1.50 OS or keyboard drivers from your operator. Provided your phone is unlocked, the keyboard should work fine. Stock is currently coming in and will be sold at the UK based orangesp.co.uk it retails for a mere £49.99 (in stock soon!). Guest JoelRae Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 does using the keyboard for an extended period run the battery down any faster than usual? Is there a power in so you can charge while you type?
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 does using the keyboard for an extended period run the battery down any faster than usual? Is there a power in so you can charge while you type? With the official Orange "ElekTex" roll up keyboard, you can plug your charger in, so you can charge while you type. I don't know about the "Flexis" one though?
Guest Gorskar Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 So... you can do that with the black elektex one too.
Guest Gorskar Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Sorry, should have used the quote - I was replying to the original item. You can copy paste with the black electex keyboard.
Guest vijay555 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Using the ceremote thing, smartphone seems to support copy and paste anyway -it responds to PC keyboard ctrl+c etc. It seems the only problem is that we don't have the hardware keys to do this. So, couldn't [someone] write a hack like MyTools that could wm_send, ie send a window message to the current window to emulate ctrl+c ctrl+x etc? for instance, this could be linked to rec button, single tap copy, dbl tap paste etc... just an idea boys - suggestions? V
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I understand you must select backlight on, on your phone. Has this been fixed now? This messing about alone would put me off the keyboard.
