Orange have now confirmed launch price and availability for the SPV E100.

An initial shipment of 2000 units will arrive at Orange stores countrywide on Friday, with more stock to follow.

The price will be £129.99 on Talk 200 and above, or for upgrades.

An offline SPV is still worth a fair amount of money, over $129.99 on eBay no problems i'd say!

i am getting an upgrade on the 20th i have a t68i, is it worth paying 100pounds more for the spv e100 or just pay the 29.99 for the old spv

if a new spv is comming out next year with things like a built in cam ect is it worth getting the old spv, then wait for the new 2003 spv and get that on my next upgrade in july 2004

No, but good luck finding an old SPV available for you to buy. I want one too but can't find one anywhere.

Anyone have any idea what the E100 might cost SIM free, or on a £15 a month (30 mins) contract?

I hope you are right this time Paul. I have sold my Eurotel Tanager to a guy in Greece on the strength of your first "official" posting about a July 7th release date.

Already, the buyer is not happy because he has paid me and I have not shipped his phone :)

pagemakers, so, you sold a eurotel tanager to get an spv e100????? why? arent they the same phone?

Well yes, but there is logic to my madness.

I am an Orange customer, so if I loose or damage my phone Orange will replace it. Eurotel won't unless I fly to Prague again!

Orange "may" offer UK specific things that Eurotel won't.

And after selling my Eurotel phone sim free, it won't actually cost me anything to change phones to the e100.

However, the Eurotel phone is supplied sim and cert unlocked and admittedly that’s hard to beat......

Oh, yes, and with my gadget disposition I can't wait for 2003 to arrive!

You can buy one through many websites in Europe [when they become available] as SIM free handsets, but you will still need to unlock it.

Will you be using it with PacBell? I found a lot of problems using European GSM handsets on PacBell's network. They seemed to want to charge me extra for everything, from GPRS, etc. and it never seemed to work correctly for WAP, etc.

Anyhow, I live in Switzerloand now where the GPRS works fine.

Damian.
