Making Files smaller

How do you make a file smaller ??? most of my music files are around 3MBish. How would I convert them to a lower quality (presumably making the file smaller ?) but still good enough quality to listen on my SPV ???

64kbit .wma's are reportedly as good as 128kbit mp3's and half the size. The quality is certainly good enough for the SPV.

I use dbpoweramp and its WM Codec plugin to convert my mp3's...(google for it)

Or get the MS "windows media bonus pack" which includes the "Plus! MP3 Audio Converter LE" which does it very easily 8)
