Can anyone post a detailed instruction for downgrading/unlocking from 1.50? Will runing the previous upgrade 1.37 do it? Can we do it without Memory card?

How about dowgrading/unlocking from 1.37 (procedure)?

Yes u can downgrade it to 1.37 just backup ur IPSM to ur memeory card

then run the 1.37.exe to ur phone then follow the instruction on installing.

you cant downgrade your smart v1.5 rom update easily... coz it wont work... search the forum for the step by step instructions.. you will need a sdcard.. it's impossible for now to downgrade it without the memory card..

I guess what theyre saying is you CAN downgrade your rom first to 137, but you NEED an SD card.

try reading the other topics in this forum or in the MAIN, SOFTWARE, or ARTICLES area

all the rom updates (except smart v1.5) for the phone can be downgraded or upgraded by just installing the update.... u cant downgrade ur smart v1.5 rom because smart did something in the update that will lock your phone and will not accept any updates like orange rom, smart older rom and etc.. in order to downgrade it.. you should copy the bootloader of your friends sap (which should be the older version) using the sdcard... then insert it in ur phone... go to strap mode and install the bootloader... then u can upgrade and downgrade normally again..

I found Boot.zip files in the internet. It has three files

BOOT-091.whx, BOOT-093.whx and BOOT-098.whx.

Are these the bootloaders needed to downgrade from 1.50?

How can we install these to SAP from the computer (without using an SD card, is it possible)?

Just curious, I still haven't updated my SAP, want to know more before doing so. what's wrong with 1.50 update.

@vinsanity

Don't attempt to upgrade to 1.50, it will cause more damage than improvements. First of all, you can't unlock it without going thru a tedious process of downgrading the bootloader etc. and you won't be able to revert back to the previous version. I had a couple of problems before in upgrading and encountered numerous errors and almost ruined the software on my phone.

Unless you're that "adventurous", I suggest DON'T UPGRADE.

My 1.5+ROM runs smoothly. If you'r e smart fanatic then why you don't upgrade? Smart puts everything to make 1.5+ROM perfect.

Yeah, admittedly there's some improvements so I heard from some SAP users, but unfortunately the rom upgrade software posted in SMART's url ruined a majority of SAP users software. Need not go far as there's a lot of complaints posted in the forum about this. And I've heard that most of them payed SMART wireless center an unscheduled visit. Also, it doesn't give you the freedom to downgrade anymore (without the SD card workaround) if you weren't satisfied with the new version (bootloader 1.04 won't allow you to). Well I guess that's one way to protect the SIMLOCK. Maybe some tuning up in the future for the upgrade softwares would be most welcomed.

Well, just an opinion, and based on personal experience anyway *peace man* :)

Ah ok..tnx! Yeah, 1.5 is ok, but the problem is it simlocks the phone permanently, so I won't be able to use the phone when I go to the states or canada..so ill have to find another phone to use there..

when you downgrade from 1.50 to 1.37, how do you sim-unlock? i had 1.37 but still have to downgrade to the orange update, unlock, then upgrade back to 1.37.

does anyone have a sim-unlocked phone with version 1.50?

Why do you want the V0.91 rom? 0.93 was the best.

sorry, my bad. i've downgraded, but now i'm stuck on suset screen, won't boot up. tried reflashing. any ideas?

@vijay555

try flashing it at the canary screen.

use rom version for smart not the orange update. the orange rom is only for unlocking. after you unlock, you must flash it back to the smart rom (1.3.7/1.50).

Figured it out elsewhere - flash was VERY bad, sigh, hard work, but recovered using IMate 1.5

so clean and responsive! no t9 tho, working on it..
