Guest Will Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 is there an application available to convert PDF files of a drawing, into .dwg files? I know they would be single layer, but... Any thoughts? Will
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 you'd think there would be, it's all vectors after all! But alas I don't know of one. Anybody else?
Guest James Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 you can get scan progs that scan to vector format
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Good idea. Would you lose much quality that way?
Guest James Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 should be ok, or another idea is to convert the pdf to an image then put the image in the dwg background the trace all the lines manualy.....
Guest Martin@Home Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Not sure you can dude ! Slightly off (off) topic... Does anybody know if there is any way in autocad of "extruding" a ruled surface into a solid ? Been beating me brains out all day trying to model a part and failing miserably ! PS I'm using autocad 2002....... ?????? :)
Guest James Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 yes you can do it! (tracing an image) i know someone that does it! not sure about the ruled serface.......... send me the file if you want
Guest Ras Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Try GTX Raster CAD!!! You may have to convert the PDF into a TIFF or something, but GTX will do the trick. Re. extruding surface, try Autodesk Inventor... ;-)
