Guest spvuk Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Hello All, I am in need of your expertise. I have transferred a wma file to my Smartphone using Windows Media Player (version 7.1). I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't pay attention to the destination for the file tranfer and I ended up transferring the file directly to the "SmartPhone" directory rather than the "Storage Card", it's intended destination. I wouldn't have thought that this would be a major problem but now I can't seem to delete the track. Every time I attempt to delete or move the track I get an error message, restricting me from deleting the track. It reads: Make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory, that the file is not set as read-only, and that you have permission to copy this file type. The file is just the same as many others which I have successfully put on the storage card and later deleted. It is not set as "read-only", I have over 5MB of space on the phone and the file is just a song from a cd which I only wanted to transfer to the phone. Furthermore, coincidentially, I have not been able to record voice notes since this problem has occurred. What is making this so troublesome for me? Any suggestions anyone? Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 perhaps the file is in use, you can try; restarting the phone and then delete the file or install task manager kill all runnign programs and then try to remove it. or Kill all the running apps with task manager remove the file with smart explorer You may need to decert your phone to install the programs, this can be done OTA. Hope this helps.
