Guest flyswat Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Could someone please explain how Orange GPRS charging works. Orange have £4 a month for WAP usage (using GPRS), however, does this include WAP usage on the SPV as it appears to have a mini internet browser? If it does include internet usage on the phone, are the GPRS bundle's solely used for receiving E-mail or connecting to the internet via a computer? Would appreciate any light anyone can put onto this for me. :?: :?: :?: :?: thanks flyswat
Guest ferret Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 I was originally on the £4/month GPRS WAP package on my old motarola v66 (aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!) and the lovely woman in the O shop said that I could continue using this package as the SPV has GPRS connectivity for internet and email etc. However, my bill proved wrong. The £4/month WAP GPRS package is ONLY for connecting to the WAP portal using GPRS. DO NOT USE IT FOR BROWSING (unless you've set your SPV to use WAP) AND DOWNLOAD EMAIL unless you're loaded
Guest davy Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 There is also this option http://www.orange.co.uk/business/small/gpr...email/home.html Some users believe this allows 3 months free internet browsing as well as E-mails but others are not so sure. :? davy.
Guest flyswat Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 thanks for your info. So the 4 pounds a month applies to WAP usage in the orange portal. But, doesn't the home portal link to other sites?, would this mean the other sites are chargable outside the £4 quid a month charge? Also, so how does orange know whether you're on their home portal or not? thanks
Guest ferret Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 As long as you use the orange WAP connection (via GPRS) you can view any site you wish for it to fall within the £4/month. Using Orange as a WAP ISP if it were. Hope I've made sense, it's a mindfield!
