Guest kroblanx Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 I've had the habit of installing PocketPC .tsk themes on my SAP. Under the Home Screen settings, I select 'Basic layout' since it's neat-looking (unlike the cluttered 'Full layout') and displays just the information I need. However, another thing I would need on this homescreen is the MRU (most recently used) apps tray that only appears under 'Full layout,' but with smaller icons. So I'm looking for some help to get either of the following done: 1) have the MRU tray with small icons appear in the "Basic layout;' or 2) decrease MRU icon size under 'Full layout' and remove SMART links What's the easiest way to get this done without modifying XML code (via Smartphone 2002 SDK)?
Guest ppcsurfr Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Huh? You can't... It's all in the XML which is independent of the homescreen... hme files. You have to create your own XML files. Mabuhay! ~ Carlo
Guest kroblanx Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 Is it also correct to conclude that a registry editor (PHM) won't do the job too? Btw, which XML files refer to the Basic and Full layouts? I'm thinking about taking a crack at modifying it. I don't know code though. Although it would really help if someone's done the job already and post the modified layouts. Please!
Guest ppcsurfr Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 The XML files are in the Windows folder... Root directory... not the IPSM. Copy them to your desktop PC and you can edit them with Notepad. It looks like HTML... so it shouldn't be that difficult. Mabuhay! ~ Carlo
Guest kroblanx Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 I did it!! Thanks to you and Midnight (for the plugin line), my Full Layout now has small MRU icons and no longer displays the SMART links!! Whahooo!!
Guest ppcsurfr Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 @kroblanx: Congratulations!!! Now you can go and join the Smartphone Home Screen competition... PhP125,000 for the first prize! Mabuhay! ~ Carlo
