Guest Bobbuilder Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Strange experience. Unlocked phone for uncertified apps - working fine in the UK - just been to the Canary Islands and tried to play Nethack(and other uncert) and got the standard warnig message "this file is not etc etc etc" On return to the UK switched phone on and am back to slaying scary newts with my bare hands  Any ideas?
Guest Bobbuilder Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 I know, but seems to be working fine now.... Saw the new phone over at msft the other day - very nice.
Guest phantom Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 ive had similar problems, but not just when leaving the country or returning, on at least 3 occasions ive been denied access to applications, and after a simple powerdown power up its worked fine. The wierdest yet was on one occasion after returning from a work trip in mainland europe i attempted to access applications only to be told that the files had been deleted wether they had been installed on the phone or sd card, and indeed they appeared to have gone even after several resets. I had just started getting on my high horse of self righteous invasion of privacy, preparing to dial orange and flame a poor operator to within an inch of his/her life for destroying my personal data, and my applications started working again! truely wierd!
Guest Bobbuilder Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Talk about Ghost in the machine. Saw the E100 in full orange guise on Friday and now comes with lovely black fold up keyboard to make e-mailing actually possible. Nice.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 now comes with lovely black fold up keyboard to make e-mailing actually possible. Nice. Afraid not :) unless someone is now doing an offer only the press release phones came with the keyboard.
Guest Bobbuilder Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Oh, damn. Well looks like it would be worth getting one - perhaps I could start a new magazine...
