New Software For Removing Answer Phone Message Sign

I am sure every one else gets this problem because I have been with Orange since they first set up in the UK and always had it on every phone they produced.

After listening to messages the little sign in the corner never goes away for ages, sometimes days. Thus when I do actually get a message I normally do not retreive it for hours.

NOW A CHALLENGE FOR ALL YOU TECHIES OUT THERE !!!!!

Build a quick one press program to get rid of that stupid phantom sign when you have retrieved your messages and Orange sruggles to remove it.

Does anyone think this is a good idea, should we vote for it ???

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks

John :)

I've had to stop using the Orange Answerphone... If Orange can't fix a bug for half a year, then their service is not worth my time and money... It's their loss as they make money each time you retrievew your voicemail... As for me, if someone wants to speak to me desperately, they'll call back!

As has been discussed before, over and over. This is NOT an SPV bug, its an Orange bug. The only solution is to leave yourself another message and listen to it the whole way through, then delete it. While this is probably (just about) possible programatically, it would require privilidged access to the phone. Only Orange can authorise that...

Not possible I'm afraid. The phantom voicemail icon is a network problem, the only way to reset it is either get Orange to clear it for you or to do the old "phone yourself, leave message, listen and delete" routine.

Just prevent it - when you delete a message don't hangup until the icon disapears.

If you just WAIT after youve pressed 3 to delete, EVENTUALLY it will go away! As above!

Can be a bit of a pain tho!

once you have deleted the mesage,as long as the orange lady says "end of messages" wait 3 seconds and then hang up..

this will solve all your problems.

I never have this problem...

I have written a program to fix this in the past, but it needs a Nokia Phone and a Data Cable to work... Maybe i'll update it :)
