Guest FrankyG Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Hi, I've searched and read the previous threads on this subject but nothing has helped me get it working. Maybe someone can throw some light on this. I've modified a typical .asx playlist and removed the unnecessary stuff, leaving this; [start of File] Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_08.mp3 Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_09.mp3 Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_10.mp3 Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_11.mp3 Storage CardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_12.mp3 [End of File] I've made sure there is an extra line at the end of the list. This is saved as French.PDL on the root of Storage Card. When I click on the playlist file, or try to open from within PocketMVP I get the same error 'This file is of an unknown format'. it's definately called French.PDL and not French.PDL.txt. I've uninstalled the latest version and tried the previous one-still the same error. I've tried modifying the path by changing Storage Card to Storage_Card, tried removing ALL underscores...I just can't get it to work! I checked the registry for .PDL files and the association was with 'avifile'...can someone check this for me please? Am I missing something abvious :?: Maybe the relative path between the PDL file and the actual tracks has something to do with it...dunno? Would be great to get this working, thanks for any pointers... FrankyG
Guest lumatrix Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Hi, I know that with a playlist for media player (.asx) you have to have the playlist in the same folder as the source tracks. Don't know that this is the problem - just a suggestion. The .asx playlists work fine when you click them they run in Media Player. lumatrix
Guest madu Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I hope you did not include the [sTART/END OF FILE] bits... :) Should be just: Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_08.mp3 Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_09.mp3 Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_10.mp3 Storage cardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_11.mp3 Storage CardMusicMichel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_12.mp3 Or if this won't work, then use relative path, ie: if your PDL file is in Storage CardMusic then use the following: Michel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_12.mp3 or Michel_ThomasMichel_Thomas_-_French_CD_8_-_Track_12.mp3
Guest FrankyG Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Na, I didn't include [sTART/END OF FILE] , but I noticed you had a blank line at the top of the of the file...was that intented? I'll give your suggestion a try anyway, thats after I remove all the WMA files and replace them with the mp3 versions..... :? FrankyG
Guest FrankyG Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 I'm not stoopid, honest..but I just cant get this to work  Can someone please have a look at the file associations in the registry and tell me what they have, perhaps export it and PM it to me? I'm certain it will be something in the registry that prevents this from working. I'd like to find out how the PDL file is supposed to be handled, and take it from there.... Cheers, FrankyG
