Guest jscotl Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I've tried to find details about why my screensaver would not activate & read the following article: Q262062 within the MS Knowledgebase. Advises that the process is suspended during Mediaplayer 7 use. I'm using WMP9, but it's not constantly active or used. Any ideas :?: If I go to Preview, then the screensaver does work, I just cannot get it to run automatically while I'm away from my desk  Tried changing time from 10mins to 1min, no joy  All xp patches applied, regular Virus Scans & spyware checks performed. If anyone can help - Not had much success on the MS Communities :!: Thanks,
Guest madu Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 What background apps/services you running? Was it always like that? Did it work before? etc PS: Check WiMP seetings for what u describe, the setting is optional afaik.
Guest jscotl Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Hi Madu, The screensaver used to work. Cannot think of what happended to make it stop auto-running. How do I adv U re: background apps/svcs? CTRL ALT DEL gives Task Mgr, I can list if this is what you ask. Or should I look at Manage from My Computer? Any clever way of capturing the info without me re-typing all? Looking in Task Mgs, I can see no ref to WMP, but when I launch it, I see "WMPlayer.exe" I can see no option within WMP which may assist & I'm sure the saver has failed to run prior to me installing WPM9. Any ideas :?: James S ps. Thanks for assistacne, much appreciated.
