Guest vijay555 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 try following up the article on msmobiles about the group that ripped and repackaged the xda rom. that would be sweet to custom pack our own roms: we could compile our own hybrid updates :) V
Guest Machineman Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 That is how Mr_E got to know this prog. I saw the reads but could not figure out how to rip the rom of the SPV.
Guest vijay555 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Sorry, didn't really follow up the xda thing. have you tried talking to those guys? Would love to know how to do it - completely clean and rebuild Smartphone shell :) V
Guest MR_E Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 More details: I unzipped the nk.nbf file from the second Danish upgrade executable, created a subdir 'files' and ran dumromp.exe on the nk.nbf file. Syntax: dumprom nk.nbf -d files >nkinfo.txt After a while the process terminates, leaving a file called nkinfo.txt. Contents of this file: a few of these img 00000000 : hdr=8c095000 base=8c078000 commandlineoffset=8c077fe0 img 00040000 : hdr=82baf284 base=82000000 commandlineoffset=81ffffe0 etcetera and then this: ERROR: could not find pointer for ofs 8c095000 invalid romhdr ofs 8c095000 After which a huge number of similar error messages. In the 'files' subdir is a 643 KB file called ðA-él0ŸåW€ ã. More on the use of dumprom: http://xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1272
