I checked out a view websites to take it out and seems like I am having troubles copy pasting the file (which had to be replaced). I am restarting my SPV, as soon as it shows the blue screen I put it on the cradle and I quickly start copy-pasting, but the thing is, it will not copy the 'changed file' untill the SPV screen says enter pin code...and then it is already too late." I got the same problem with, already my second, (dutch) SPV & i'm getting a little pissed  . I'm beginning 2 wonder if dutch SPV's can be unlocked manually?! I got my other SPV unlocked some months ago with the official Orange method but the problem is that this is only TEMPORARILY :) CAN A-N-Y-BODY GIVE ME A HINT?! Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Orange OTA is not temporary dude...
Guest morph3us Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Yes it is D U D E! Quote: http://www.developers.orange.com/workingwi...3/04/Unlocking/ "Unlocking/locking the SPV: The process of unlocking the SPV involves the temporary removal of the certificates. The unlock/lock process is delivered over-the-air to the SPV." Speaks for itself not?! Anybody else with a useful reply?!
Guest morph3us Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Yep, Then after a random time limit it magically re-locks :? Known bug at Orange right? Other suggestions?
Guest James Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 first time i have heard of that..... mine has been locked for about three months like it.............
Guest Brody Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 morph3us, my phone hasn't ever re-certed itself in months!?
Guest broeren79 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 i'm dutch too, and i had the same problem unlocking it the way you described. The OTA way is temporary, 'cause Orange expects you to relock it yourself! It will never do it on it's own, unless you do something to force the spv to hard reset itself (bad registry or something) or when you hard reset it yourself! Mine is unlocked for quite a while now, and no problems so far!
Guest morph3us Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Thanks guys for ur replies! Maybe the SPV isn't for me  ?! I can't believe my second one is also evil as hell  ! I try the official orange way a second time then... A dutch saying: "3 maal is scheepsrecht!" Peace ouT Morph3uS Ps. I'm not the only one with the mysterious re-locking problem. Orange knows about it; some kind of system bug. Orange is trying 2 sort it out?!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 The http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?t=22908>OTA way is temporary, 'cause Orange expects you to relock it yourself! Thank you. The only reason your phone will re-cert itself is if there is a system eror or corruption. As yet there have been no reports of Orange relocking ANY phones. Mines been unlocked for months too, as have thosands of others. I doubt Orange would recert any phones either (how would they determine who is or isn't a developer?).
Guest hjjorg Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 maybe the link below will help Ultimate guide on unlocking Smartphones depending on the updating software you choose to install it decertifies your phone so you can run any app.
