as the e100 is now availible in the UK

I was just wondering who upgraded to the e100 and how much did they pay

Has anyone actually tried to get a e100 through O care? If so, what were the results.

All replies welcome (go on - you know you wanna)

I ordered one yesterday on a new contract from the O site :)

PS: has anyone else ordered one from the orange website, and if so, how long did it take to come ?

Do you know if you're friend just called upgrades - because they just told me that they could not disapply the upgrade fee (£75)

They also told me it would cost £129 to upgrade - I then fainted and wrote this email on waking up

Orange upgrades can be very arsey about upgrades. I have a few contracts, both staff tariffs and ones i took out before I started working for orange. Well the average bill on the none staff one was around £90 and the contract was just about a year and a half old. Seven months passed after my last upgrade and due to my monthly spend being so high, I gave O Upgrades a call.

I still have a £75 + VAT fee as well as the cost of the handset. Yet pauls friend, £100 spend after 9 months gets it for free. I then phoned up Orange retail helpdesk to see what was going off and even they couldnt help. Seems the upgrades procedure has about the same consistency of the bottom of my grans feet.

BTW the way, it's Paul[MVP] and not Paul[GOD]. He does help, big time. I have friends that can get me things much cheaper than joe public can get them, but it's not possible for me to extend those benefits to just anyone. Perhaps Paul is in a similar situation. People on this forum tend to help when they can, and comments like yours don't help in the slightest. Be nice, it doesn't cost.

I could post the exact number to call here, but I don't think it would be prudent to do so.

However, by using a bit of common sense, you could probably work it out...

Hmm there is only one department that can do something about upgrades and its not Orange upgrades - However this department can only really help if you are thinking about leaving orange - but contractually they don't have to help as we all have 12 month contracts - which means november for me.

Anyway - my original post was to see if anyone did upgrade and it seems as though the numbers are few and far between.

It also seems that very few people have got Tanagers through O care

Oh well - may just have to wait

Davidrm - Ordered my Orange SPV on the 4th of this month, still hasnt come yet!! Ive just got off the phone to them complaining but getting the same old bullshit. Basically they have had a huge amount of orders for the Nokia (excuse my language) 6100, they have never had this amount of orders to cope with before so they have been workin there arses off to get the orders out.

To put it short. Allow at least 2 weeks to get your phone, i still havnt paid a penny for my phone yet, although if you phone up and they tell you you'll have it by the end of the week, dont believe them, ive been told, you'll have it in a couple of days, actually now it'll prob be friday, oh well now it'll be next thurs maybe fri, and now its 'i dont know when it'll come to be honest, if you havent heard anything from us by 5pm on friday call us again'!!

Orange Customer care = Bu(($h^t.!!!!

I ordered my E100 yesterday, orange online for 49.99 on Your Plan 600, and wil downgrade afterwards. Was told that phone will arrive monday because of delays.

Orange high street as them in stock. I was >this< close to one, but they wouldn't price match their own online price.

yeah the same happened to me. Anyway if the phone arrives on monday mate let me know, doubt it will though.

Phoned them up today. They said:

"Oh the usual price is £249" (i think i got that right)

"But for you we have a special offer for... [and you could just see her reading all this set crap from the screen] ...for £129"

"Thanks, bye!"

I ordered mine on Monday at 5pm and got it today (Weds) at 9am.

Total upgrade fee £90, my average bills are £80/mth. A bit irritating as my previous 5 phones I have got from Orange were without any upgrade fees after a chat with the Disconnections Dept.

I think Orange's priorities are changing from customer retention (less churn) to customer profitability (more cash).

And where they have an exclusive phone in high demand, I don't blame them!
