Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Up until now...I had my phone set-up to receive an SMS message when new mail has been received in my POP3 account. TMobile has a service that monitors the account and sends the message upon arrival. Now that I have unlimited GPRS, I would like to setup Automatic Email Synchronization to send and receive every 15 minutes. But I think the phone is having some problems. 1) The phone doesn't seem to retreive email that I know is there SOMETIMES. 2) Also, the GPRS connection doesn't close...it just stays open. 3) Is there anyway to have the email client remove the messages from the server upon retreival? Does anyone know what can be wrong? Thanks. Nick
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 1: Sure they aren't being download somewhere else (office/home PC)? 2: Do you have MSN set to log in automatically when connected? This will keep the connection open (anything currently using GPRS will keep the conn open). 3: No way to remove them on retrvial, they're only removed from the server when you move them the the deleted items folder and you resync, which delete them from your phone too. Sorry if thats not much help... :/
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Thanks Mono...that helped alot actually! Messenger was keeping the connection open. I unchecked the box in it's options. I wasnt allowing the email to sync again to see that the mail was in the deleted folder. Thats why I was still able to retreive it on my PC. As far as not retreiving the mail sometimes...I dont know what that was but it's working fine now. Thanks for your help. Nick
