Guest jadams Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 [Edited by Site Admin, thanks for the submission jadams!] SYMPTOM: Has anyone else got the problem of dust under the screen. I admit it is not as serious as some of the other problems the SPV has but it is damn annoying! I would be very grateful if anyone has any ideas as to how to fix it! RESOLUTION: None Known
Guest Sofarocker Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 Yes i had the same problem... it was the Display Front Panel wich was not fitting correctly and dust coming in. Today i become a new SPV... no i will see. Bring it back to your Orange Shop for a change of your SPV.
Guest gavin_spry Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 But there must be a solution that doesn't involve taking it back to the shop. I've got a few grains of dust under my screen as well. Most annoying.
Guest xanadu Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 I have dust in my Ipaq which is made by HTC, same as the SPV, and I have had 3 replacements for various faults, and they all got dust in the screens after a short time. I don't think there is any fix for this, and it's not worth sending back an SPV just because it has dust in it. Some people would be happy just to be able to have an SPV, as they are still in short supply.
Guest kevlar Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 I am not sure about this because I don't have this problem yet, and haven't looked inside my SPV, but how about a blast of clean air through the speaker openings? You can get a can of cleaning compressed air from any camera shop. Kevlar
Guest jadams Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Got a replacement SPV now and am wondering how I can stop dust getting in again and I cant think of a good idea maybe a good leather case might help althoug there isnt one availiable for the SPV yet bit I did read somewhere that a case for an existing phone may do the trick. Any ideas folks?
Guest muude Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Quick, easy and cheap solution, although not that handy: Put it in a plastic see-through bag and seal it TIGHT.... Perhaps not as handy, but you probably dont have to worry about dust anymore...
Guest Lojt Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 So what would you do when you had to charge it/change sd card?
Guest chewie Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1032 Perhaps this will help?
