Guest tomesy Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Hello All, This is probably the last place to post this, but I know there's plenty of techy bods about who may be able to help. I have just brought a Sony Camcorder (DVRTRV19). It has the the usual outputs, DV Out, S-Video, Minijack to Scart/Phono. This camera is a PAL UK model, however I'm taking it on a World Trip and want to use to play tapes on NSTC TV's in the US and Venzuela. Will it work as it is - if not, is there anything I can buy to allow me to do this. Thanks, Richard........
Guest siu99spj Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Many newer TVs will support PAL and NTSC, so you may not need to worry about extra hardware. Obviously if you have a TV that can accept a Digital input (i.e. From your DV Out) then you don't need to worry about PAL/NTSC problems. However, you can also buy boxes but they are generally expensive and the quality can be terrible, especially going from PAL to NTSC. Sorry I can't help you on where to get or how much they are. Just ask in your local AV shop. Hope this helps,
Guest Windbreaker Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 hi, search for the so called system converter in your Audio Video shop in your place. It converts Pal to NTSC or vice versa. By the way there also VHS player that has a built in converter much cheaper than buying a system converter. Hope this help....
