Guest fergiem Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I've recently moved to HK and want to try and get my phone 'unlocked' so that I can get an HK sim card so that I don't have to use international numbers to dial local calls out here. I have spoken to Orange and their answers have ranged from 'not possible' to 'it takes 10 days and you have to pay off the remainder of your contract' to ' take your phone to a dealer out there and they'll unlock it.' The poor souls out here have never seen anything quite so sleek as the spv and are completely baffled. My problem is that I don't want to lose my beloved number, so I have to keep a contract with Orange. Has anyone had any success with using a foreign sim card? Cheers :x
Guest fergiem Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 why no answer? Is it illegal to use a foreign sim card? Surely not if I intend to carry on paying my existing contract?
Guest fergiem Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 OK Just what I'm looking for -Butttt one of the commands says "click on the icon of the lock" I know I'm being dumb but where is this? Because without this then no code comes up - any help for this final problem will induce multiple rapturous ejaculations.
