Guest JOB Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 You may have read my post having a go at the SPV. Well as I mentioned it won't boot, it does this quite often , but recovers by itself ,but this time it's terminal. It just hangs at the sunset screen, and even if you turn it off it still flattens the battery. I followed the delete IPSM method, but the curious thing is that all of the other options are blank? Well it passes the delete, but then won't go to the canary screen, mainly because I'm just guessing the option, when you hit back twice, it's just numbers. I guess it's well and truly fooked (heaven forbid I would need this piece of scrap in an emergency  ) I only keep this contract goin for the free minutes on Orange, and cos I want to upgrade again at the end, but it WILL NOT BE A MICROSHITE PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Moved to help and advice. The bootloader was modified deliberately to remove other options. Just reboot the phone after the IPSM has been deleted. It may take 10-15 minutes or more to finish booting while the new IPSM is written. If you still have issues you would appear to have a faulty handset. Call Orange and ask about a replacement. Don't forget 99% of handsets work fine, as with any other mobile phone.
Guest JOB Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Thanks Mono, that sorted it :) (it can go back in the drawer now  ) Seriously though I do use when I just want to listen to MP3, use the handsfree when riding my bike.
