SMART Phone ROM / Urgent Help & Advice

Hi all,

I am new member in those forums as i joined a while since i bought an SPV a month ago when i was in Dubai. I am a QTEK user since a year now and 2 weeks ago i upgraded it to WM2003 instead of PPC2002 its great! but i thought i would change for a while and use my SPV but the surprise is that i found allot of bugs and problems with my SPV hope someone can anwser my question or help me with them.

First impression about the SPV great device but later on things went from good to bad...

1- First the SPV locks up when i have the device password on, when i receive a phone call or SMS not always but once each 24h. Any ideas?

2- Battery life is very poor! the SPV with normal calls is holding for 24h comparing to my QTEK it holds for 2 days average! any ideas? should i buy a new battery?

3- I visited the SMART website and they posted a new upgrade for my ROM i am using now 1.3.7 should i upgrade it to 1.5 is it necassery and would it solve my problems? or can upgrade it with another ROM from Orange lets say! Although my phone has the Orange logo on it on the outside i have SMART ROM on the inside is that normal?

4- If i upgraded my ROM will the phone be locked as i read in some places because i bought it unlocked.

5- Also i saw the SPVx and i was comparing it to my SPV and i noticed that the screen colors are much better then the one i have, is it s new screen or it can be modified manually?

6- There is also my LED problem, the LED only flashes when signal is obtained not when battery is low or i have missed call... is that normal?

I would appriciate youre help please i planing to switch from Pocket PC to smartphone but i wont take this step if i didnt support it well.

The phone locks up when you receive an SMS? this was a bug with the first

Danish update, strange as you have it now.

newer updates should fix this, unless you do have a battery problem.

It may fix the above problems.

The SPVxTanagerSmartQtek etc has a better display

That's normal, the LED flashes when you are receiving a network signal, it will turn red if you allow the battery to run low.

Thanks for the help, i am planing anyways to get the SPVx anytime soon so i hope i wont find the same bugs in it :)
