Guest blumet Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Hi everyone, I'm encountering the following problem. Since yesterday, every let's say 10 secs, all the keys don't respond anymore, not even the action button, it looks like the OS freezes (Alright it's WINDOWS). It has nothing to do with the key lock (never used). The only way to have the keys work again, is to press once the recording button or the quick list button, and voila', the keys work again but after a while still the same problem. It doensn't have to do with the inactivity either, since the keys block while I'm typing messages. It happened also a few times that not even the recording or the quick list button could solve the problem, I had to turn off the phone! How frustrating. Anyone knows or had the same problem? Is there a way to format or have a clean system again without risking to throw away the phone? My name is Tiziana, a chick in need
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 You may have a stucksticking key, I had the same sort of problem which resulted in having to get a replacement phone :) You could try a Hard Reset which will reset the phone to it's "out of the box" state. Give that a go first and if the problem persists a replacement may be the only option. PS moved to Help and Advice
Guest blumet Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Thanks for your advice, I tried with the hard reset, but the keys don't react when I reboot, I also found out that the backlight stays the whole time on and consequently the battery doesn't last longer than 7/8 hours. I'm stuck, since I bought the phone on ebay. P.S. the first week everything was working fine.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 yep sounds like a key is stuck on :) As for the back light check ProgramsSettingsPower Management and check your settings
