Guest doyle_am Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 After watching 24 for what seems like an age, that ringtone from CTU has stock in my head so I managed to find the wav. Thought I'd stick it here for any other fans - I'm using it as an SMS alert. Can't confuse it with anyone else now! :)24-CTU-Ring.txt
Guest Bender Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Thanks - thats is cool...... Pi$$ off everyone in da office :) Is there a way of looping it so I can use as a ringtone??
Guest doyle_am Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Won't you be popular! :) If you set it as your ringtone it will look but with a 3 second pause between restarting the wav. What you could do is use Sound Recorder in Windows to make it longer: 1. Open Sound Recorder (Run sndrec32.exe) 2. Open the CTU sound file. 3. Click Edit, Insert File, and choose the same CTU tune again. 4. Repeat this to make it as long as you like. This will make it look like a repeat but without the pause (well until you get to the end of the file anyway). HTH
Guest Matt Kirby Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Or use one of Midnight's tweaks to remove the 3 second pause: Correctly Looping Ringtones This is a tweak I think should be standard on the phone, especially for wav files Normally while playing a wav or midi as the ringtone the phone has a delay of 3 seconds before repeating, now this is really annoying if you've just created that great wav ringtone, spent ages making it loop properly in cooledit or whatever, and then the SPV does the silly delay, well, heres the fix... Open the registry editor: HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelSoundsRingTone0 Select 'Values' And modify 'Script' by removing the w3 (eg. change 'av0pw3r' to 'av0pr') And thats all there is too it This way you won't have to edit the wav, and therefore wont make it bigger (which takes up more space on the phone and takes longer to load).
Guest doyle_am Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I stand corrected! Nice call mattkirby. :)
Guest Matt Kirby Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 That tone seemed a bit quiet, so I boosted it a bit, and I also did a bit of noise reduction.24 CTU Ring - Normalised & Noise Reduction.txt
Guest Matt Kirby Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Another version; same as before except smaller (removed silence at the end which took up 20k).24 CTU Ring - Normalised & Noise Reduction Short.txt

Guest supersha Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 If i could figure out how to add an attachment with this post, i would place my full looped version for other lazy folks like myself to download.

Guest Brody Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 i cant seem to set a wav as my ringtone...i can do it with midi's but not wavs'. What am i doing wrong? Where are you putting the wav's? They should be in IPSMApplication DataSounds or for a Windows Mobile 2003 device StorageApplication DataSounds. Ps. ensure that the Sounds folder has an uppercase S.
Guest Syphon Filter Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 cheers mate...u posted this in my other thread too...much appreciated...thanks again
Guest verbetex Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Does this tone make crackin/popping noises for anyone else? It's happening on the last bit of the tone (not the silent bit). I'm using it on the MPx200 and have tried turning the ringing volume down, but it's still distorting. Any ideas?
Guest verbetex Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 OK, solved it, just decreased the volume a bit on the wav file. BTW, ta for the tone, was gonna try to make it myself, but now you've saved me the time
Guest Rawlde Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 That tone seemed a bit quiet, so I boosted it a bit, and I also did a bit of noise reduction. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can someone tell me how to get the ringtone onto my Cingular LG1400 phone?
