How can I convert WMV to AVI?

I have found lots of links on how to convert AVI to WMV but none on converting WMV to AVI.

I have downloaded lots of vids from sites and they play fine on my media player but because I want to watch them full screen I need them in AVI to run on PocketDivx.

I have down loaded windows media encoder but it dosent reconise any files and just says they are all bad files. Im not sure if this is because I downloaded ver 9 not 7 but it won't let me go back now.

If their is no easy way to convert this way then does anyone know where I can download in AVI format, Or can anyone email me some they already have converted?

Hi m8,

I found some different encoders to convert by typing in google the keywords "wmv avi convertor" you get a lot of hits but you have to search 4 and free one there are some but you have to search for it.
