Guest neuronisis Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Hi all, i check my hotmail account on my SPV on a regular basis but recently there's been a problem. It says this is now a premium service  I visited the msn.mobile website and it says you can now check your mobile e-mail via text messaging. Also it says your service provider(Orange) may charge you for this. Any one else having these problems? Cheers 8)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Not sure about this, but to be honest, wouldn't suprise me in the slightest. I've long planned to implement Hotmail functionality into Mobile MoDaCo, and now I think i've finally found what I need to do so. Check out http://www.modaco.com/hotmail/ to see a pre-optimisation version... P Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest morpheus2702 Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 I'm still getting MSN text alerts through to my phone at the moment?
Guest rogerbates Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Just checked my Hotmail account on MSN Mobile using my phone, no problems. It just went straight through to the inbox as normal.
Guest HelloDave Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 I've just checked hotmail on my SPV - no probs. Used mobile msn or whatever it's called (the PDA version). Paul, sorry but i've got to ask; how secure is MoDaCo Hotmail? IE, where do passwords go when you enter them etc?
Guest ashley.flynn Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 damn, that service is great! paul, how did you get into the hotmail system??? is it an affiliation or are using the passport .net framework? Either way, great thinking once again!
Guest AngelOfRage Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 very nice... well done, excpet one thing, if an email has no subject it gets the next one above it or below it... not sure if this was just on mine but it might need looking into...
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Passwords are not stored anywhere... The software is called hail, see hailware.com - i'll be customising the templates... P Posted from my SmartPhone!

Guest madu Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 Hi all, i check my hotmail account on my SPV on a regular basis but recently there's been a problem. It says this is now a premium service  Any one else having these problems? If you read carefully through the page it somewhere says 'to continue free service...' or something like that... I had that problem and it's damn annoying how they decieve people.
