Hi, I just got the E100 throught the post a couple of days ago, and since then I've spent litterally hours trying to remove the digital signing thingy. Everything I've tried hasn't worked, and I think I've tried everything.

The latest thing I've read about is modifying the 'mxip_oem_10.provxml' file manually and some other file and then copying them back to the phone.....I've already tried the Orange method, and the Decerter V2 program, but neither are working.

OK, so....if anyone could send me the modified versions of the files I need, to copy onto my phone, that would be wicked, cause for some reason, I can't even open the origional files for editing purposes.

I'd appreciate any help and additional links to methods etc any of you can offer.

Cheers, Tim

Here is the coolsmartphone link with full instructions.

To open the file to edit it...drag the file to your desktop, right click it, click Open With..., Open with NotePad.

Or drag the file to your desktop, open NotePad, click file , open, and choose the file on your desktop. When you save the file after making the modifications, be sure you don't save it with a txt extension.

The reson you cant open may be because the file doesnt originally have an extension and windows doesnt know which file to open it with...but it is editable in Notepad.

Good Luck.

OK, a reason you may be having trouble editing the files it that they are read only, on your PC right click on them and choose properties and untick the read only box.

However, I believe the E100 has a newer rom version that the SPV and it may not be possible to decertify the E100 in the way you are trying. The best approach to decertification is to use the orange tool supplied here:

If the site says it does like your phone or if for some reason it doesn't work in some other way type in a made up IEMI number and press next a few times and it will give you a download link for a piece of software that may help.

Yep only the Orange method will work, for more information about this click on OTA

or just use spacemonkey's direct link for Orange's site.
