Guest Damian_demon Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 I have only just noticed today that nearly everyone who uses MoDaCo is male, and I have just spent about half an hour trying to find a post or reply sent by a female, Women really aren't into tecnology weird!!!!!!!!
Guest Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 There was a poll a while back about female users on MoDaCo, can't remember the final percentage but it weren't that high. Or maybe women are into technology but unlike us boys most of them are not into tweaking and fiddling (stop laughing at the back!).
Guest squall Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 I have just spent about half an hour trying to find a post or reply sent by a female, Women really aren't into tecnology weird!!!!!!!! your life sounds about as interesting as mine!
Guest Hax Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 I remember my Computer Science lectures at uni - of around 200 students, only about 10 of them were female, and out of those, probably only 2 were from the UK. Come to think of it, at work on a team of about 15 software engineers, only one is female. Guess women just don't find computers a turn on  Funny thing is that a lot of people run around shouting about how much harder it is for women to get into or promoted within engineering/I.T jobs, but considering how rare female engineers/I.T specialists are, I don't hink that it's particularly surprising that there are less female engineering/I.T bosses..... Oh, and this isn't meant to be a chauvanist comment, just an observation that most women don't *want* to work within I.T./engineering. And it's not meant to start a flame war either :) Hax
Guest Damian_demon Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Ian my life really is that intresting but when you're waiting for you're A level results you ain't got much else to do
Guest philgriffiths Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Oh i remember waiting for my A level results.......I spent hours tralling for women too! hahaha. Seriously though Good luck with them ...... I had cottoned on by finishing my alevels, that girls (or atleast good looking ones) didnt go in for technology based stuff.....Which is why i spent the last three years doing a social sience....with some very nice eye candy (and nice people to boot, before anyone accuses me of being a Biggoted pig). Which meant those dull lectures just that bit easier to go too....and the course nights out were allways worth attending...... Happy days
Guest jonblakeburn Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Which is why i spent the last three years doing a social sience....with some very nice eye candy... When I was at Uni, the same lecture theatre that we used for Computer Science was also used by a Nursing course, so as we left there was always circa. 150 lovely young ladies waiting to go in... Happy days indeed. :) Good luck Damian.

There are different ways to go about finding a woman! :)
Guest Damian_demon Posted July 24, 2003 Report Posted July 24, 2003 I was only doing this through boardom I had (just Dumped) a girl friend and I got the idea of doing some subjects have more women in thus Business studies which is in the same lecture halls as travel and tourism (How many women do this??????? All I believe
Guest Gorskar Posted July 24, 2003 Report Posted July 24, 2003 Maths seemed to be about half and half during the early years, but it seems that not too many women were keen on doing a 4th year of it (to get a masters)
Guest siu99spj Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 I don't know why you guys are moaning. In Electronic Engineering and Cybernetics, there were no women at all. Come to think of it though, there were no other blokes either so never mind! :) But slightly more worrying there was only 1 girl doing Cybernetics (Well, Cyb and Biomechanics) and 1 VERY scary girl (Think Goth gone bad, 10 stone overweight and showers in chip fat  ) doing Electronics (Thankfully she was only around for the last 18 months). And now I'm working in an industry were the only time I see a female is when I look out onto the streets below
Guest philgriffiths Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 And now I'm working in an industry were the only time I see a female is when I look out onto the streets below Are you working on a building site or something? Do you lead the men in the cat calling? "Wow shake it madam! Capital Knockers!" (Side show bob in the Simpsons)
Guest siu99spj Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Are you working on a building site or something? Do you lead the men in the cat calling? "Wow shake it madam! Capital Knockers!" (Side show bob in the Simpsons) Unfortunately( :? ) not. My degree somehow got me a job as a Telecoms engineer (Who doesn't deal with mobile phones, thankfully). That means I now work in a big black tower, south of London. Only problem with being on the 9th floor is she'd some SERIOUS "Capital Knockers" for us to notice! :)
Guest philgriffiths Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Any women with knockers that could be seen from nine floors up.......send proof to the following email address...... lol
Guest Emad Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 If you want a whole load of extremely attractive lasses do Psychology or similar. Some of them even have brains - thats what makes a relationship last, not looks.. I do maths and comp sci, so all the women are mad. But then again, so am I :)
Guest mores Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 at the technical uni in vienna, there were actually quite a number of women around ... most of them studying architecture. with computer science, civil engineering etc. things looked a little different. i believe it's the way girls are discouraged from taking on technical studies. they're usually worse in math, physics etc when in highschool, probably because it's just not interesting to them. but even though math and physics may be boring doesn't mean that studying computer science and the like is boring as well. i guess schools should do more to educate kids about studying possibilities, maybe even go to those open house events unis usually have once a year in seperate groups, guys and girls on different occasions. i've seen a study on tv where they showed that girls were more likely to show interest and participate in technical activities when there were no boys around.
Guest philgriffiths Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 If you want a whole load of extremely attractive lasses do Psychology or similar. Some of them even have brains - thats what makes a relationship last, not looks.. I did criminology and criminal justice, which was essentially a great deal of psychology from a criminal standpoint....so the ladies were allways lovely (both in looks and personality). Although i never had a grilfriend on the same course.....for ethical reasons of course :). The girls i did go out with were a psychology student, a law student, an advertising student and a phoresic sience student. So i can vouch for the psychology angle. Also found it helps to get friendly with a.) sprots societies (but not rugby, especially ladies rugby  ) and b.) an irishman (i lived with one for three years and he seemed to know a LOT of girls) they come for the irish lilt, they stay with the brummie comedian! thought id share some gems for those looking to experience a young, free, and wild single life at one of Britains fine establishements
Guest Damian_demon Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 I can't wait till i get to uni and get to have all the fun with lots of ladies from the same course and have all the fun with all the lectures with them in the room.
Guest philgriffiths Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 :) you should be warned though mate....as Ross said in friends....women talk! If your either a complete b'stard to them, or worse, no good in the sack, the supply of potential ladies will dry up quicker than a nuns chuff. My advice for meeting the ladies would definatley be the clubs and societies, pulled all my girlfireds from sports clubs, well just one club actually, but who knows, if i had been tehre another year i might have had to move on to another one!
Guest Rob.P Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Best place is late night shopping at Tescos or something similiar (obviously better the closer you get to London).
Guest philgriffiths Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Oh that is a good plan. Unfortunatley i was in Preston so instead of 24 Hour Tesco we had 24 Hour Spa, and instead of good looking women the only people who went to the all night spa were there to rob the place!
Guest MECX Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 choose your woman wisely at uni coz if you have one from a 'group' the rest wont go near you. like they say theres someone for everyone there. :)
