Welcome to the site ;)

Could be that your problem is that the location should be IPSMApplication DataSounds

(note the capitals) :)

Ok - it is possible to use downloaded files as ringtones. First, Make sure the files are in .wav format {The SPV DOES NOT support MP3 Ringtones}. Once you have downloaded the file/s to your PC {and checked to make sure they are *.wav format} follow the steps below;

1) ActiveSYNC your phone to your PC

2) Open Windows Explorer and navigate to where your saved your downloaded files you wish to use.

3) Open another explorer window and open your smartphone to the root directory.

4) Now copy the .wav files from your PC to the Windows directory on your smartphone.

Now, on your SPV goto the Sounds Settings and scroll to the file you have just copied over..

:)

Enjoy.....

Err no, If you place the file there it will disappear when you do a power cycle on the phone as the Windows directory gets rewritten every time the phone gets powered up.

Is the folder Sounds or sounds? as it needs to be Sounds note the capital,

it's a common mistake that is made.

Other wise it's down to the format of the file ie needs to be midi0 or wav

The phone can not play Polyphonic tones only midi0 and wav files.

Then again why try and replicate a tune when you can play the real thing :)

Secondly - I'm also trying to create a connection but having difficulty installing the spv as the modem. I' ve created the gprs connection but just need to assign the correct modem to the connection.

The only one i have is the internal modem.

Im connecting via usb cradle not IR. I know this has been a problem in the past.

Again, can anyone help please. Thanks

Because i want the tune as a ringtone. Does it need to be converted into wav. or amr.? Is it possible?

Are wavs basically the same as mono tones.

Please excuse my ignorance and also my user name, it was created when i first got the phone and gave up on it.

i've just regained a little interest in it so i'm basically starting from scratch
