Guest eyup Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 hi, just rang orange about claiming a new handset or repair under warrenty and they gave me the number 0129 566 2109 - does anyone know if this is an orange dept or is it external? dont suppose anyone claimed before and knows the process or what they'll wanna do before i ring. thanks
Guest squall Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 its external - hayes technology. they diagnos the phone when they recieve it, if its warrenty its free if its not then you get the choice of paying for repair, or getting your handset back, this costs £17.63 if you dont pay they will bi it after a month. they say phones should be returned within 3-4 working days, but mine has been away for over two weeks. customer service is very poor, ive phoned many times to chase up my phone, after a long time on hold, im told that the 3-4 day return policy is for warrenty repairs only, and my phone will be dispatched shortly. they are very poor, and orange are letting themselfs down hugly by using them. If your phones broke and its not warrenty you will have to pay to have the phone returned, orange care will replace it if you have it, or you can either 1, take out emergency care (£30 + 12 months at £5) 2, replacement (£70) no commitment to insurance, but you need your phone back first. let me know if you have any more questions, and if anyone works for hayes, i want my phone back!
Guest eyup Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 dont have any questions but will post back how i get on. they sending out the bag/box/whatever it is for me to send it to them. all this for one faulty key!!! wonder how long this will take! :-( i did like the orange cs guys solution - "have you tried removing the cover and cleaning the keypad" - well i know people have removed the cover but if thats the best they can come up with well %^*& them! he soon back tracked when i reminded him it was an SPV.
