Guest scaryscotsman Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 HELP!!!!!!!!!!1 I've searched the forum and had a wee read at the Orange care T's&C's. Some unmentionable recently stole my lovely SPV (thankfully my 256mb card was in my car stereo at the time) and I was wondering if I am still covered by care or if someone else steals this phone will I get a replacement? The thing is the phone they sent me has a few faults and I would like it replaced through care as I cant really be without it for a couple of weeks like some people are experiencing with warranty claims. Thanks again.
Guest Gorskar Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 well, you are still covered by orange care, but I hope you are not suggesting Insurance fraud. Orange will replace it if it is faulty, and if you have Orange Care, then you should get a replacement sent out within 24hours.
Guest Will Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 if you had orange care, and someone stole the phone, ring them, i'm not sure if you are covered if the phone was out of your immediate area, but it's worth a try... The other phone??? eh?? not sure what you mean. if you purchased a new phone and it has an orange badge on it, you should be able to transfer care onto this phone?? I might be wrong, and i'm sure the guys on the forum who work/have worked for orange care, will be able to post more.. Will
Guest scaryscotsman Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 My apologies! I didn't make my post clear enough. The faulty phone that I have is the replacement SPV that Orange sent me after the first one was stolen. I was really just checking if I could still use O care to replace the faulty phone instead of waiting on a warranty repair. I was also curious as to what would happen if some other bugger decided to help themselves to my phone bearing in mind I had aready claimed this year ( I had had 4 years no-claims!). Thanks for your replys already posted.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 If they sent you a faulty phone then they need to replace it, it should not affect care as it's their fault.
Guest neilg Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 I had my phone stolen (SPV) on a foreign trip, went through all the trouble of getting a crime number etc, and then they caught a guy with it amongst a load of others at the airport. Unfortunatly O had already processed the claim and so even though I had the old phone sent back to me it was IMEI blacklisted. It is nice to know that this all works but seemed a shame I coudnt send the new one back and save all the costs of processing my claim. In the end just sent the original handest back which I assume gets put into the reconditioned pool. Since then the new phone has had the headset problem and been replaced in the normal way thoruhg care
