Guest dennis1st Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Sir, I tried installing the speedy menu and speed boost last night but unfortunately, when i was about to install it, i received the mesage "installation failed". However when I checked on the "remove programs", the speedy menu and speed boost are already there. I tried to remove the program thru the phone and thru active sync but the files can't be removed. How can I install them properly. hope you could help me. thanks.
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Hmm sounds odd Try and check this folder with Smart Explorer: IPSM // Windows // AppMgr // Install And delete any files that might be in there! Then try and run the speed cabs again.
Guest midnight Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 yup, that is a very strange one indeed, did you try rebooting the phone and try installing again? if you still have probs, let me know, i can run through the reg settings with you and install it by hand :) as for the files, i wouldnt worry too much, it actually only installs a text file that has the version number in it etc., the rest of it is reg entries, so wont take up any space on the phone.
Guest gladel Posted July 24, 2003 Report Posted July 24, 2003 yo midnight, when will your website be up? oh and can you make some kind of a font smoothing (or cleartype) cab tweak for the smartphone? >>your tweaks in cabs are definitely awesome!
Guest dennis1st Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 Sir, i tried to go toIPSM//WINDOWS//APPMGR//INSTALL, but nothing is in there. How do i reboot the phone? is that as simple as turning it off? When I check on the "remove programs", the speedboost and speedy menus are still there and cant be removed. is it okay to let it stay there and just try to copy the cab file to the accessories folder and try installing again? Sori to bother you but Im just a new user of the Tanager. I am very much interested to know more about the phone's power. thanks.
Guest midnight Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 yeh, absolutly, just install over the top again ;) one question, your phone isnt software locked is it? if not, grab smart explorer from monolithix.org, with that you can browse your phone with a file explorer and launch programs with it (also the tweaks will only work on a software unlocked phone) :) as for font smoothing, dont bother, nina wasnt designed to have font smoothing, and what you will find is that it only works with white text, all other text messes up badly. (in PIE that is, on the phones UI it doesnt appear to work at all)
Guest vijay555 Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 Cab was already put up by madu i think. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...light=cleartype V
