Guest Spike Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 This is probably a known 'feature' and I was just wondering whether there was a fix. THe problem is when sending a nice long sms you just wrote and it fails coz you don't have a signal you lose the message your wrote. This is really annoying coz I end up writing each message 10 times !! help?
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 DAT do a program called "SMS Tools" which will enable you to re-send failed SMS messages. AFAIK this version of this software is only availible to MoDaCo Plus members (I think that the version availible from DAT's website doesn't have the re-send feature). To have a look at the other additional benifits of Plus click on the above link.
Guest JoelRae Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 or use Orneta notepad ... free txt editor, has character counter and "send as sms" function 8) If no signal, just says "message failed" then returns you to your txt file!!
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Orneta notepad is another good alternative; but bear in mind that it has no access to your phone book, so you can't select a contact to send a message to.
Guest JoelRae Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 in the "send via sms" screen, try menu > select contact  I'm using version 1.18 if that helps
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Ah ha! I have an older version! Cheers for that!
Guest JoelRae Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 No problem mate :) I guess it's worth mentioning orneta notepad is signed so you can use it on app-locked phones, is freeware, and ithe latest version is available from handango  Joel
Guest Dylan Posted July 24, 2003 Report Posted July 24, 2003 Mayeb I've got the wrong end of the stick here but when this happens to me I just go into my sent items (where it's automatically stored) and forward it once I've got signal. No?
Guest JoelRae Posted July 24, 2003 Report Posted July 24, 2003 :) yep mate, that probably should have been the obvious answer  Spike, have you tried Show Folders > Sent Items?
Guest Dylan Posted July 24, 2003 Report Posted July 24, 2003 :) They don't call be Brains for nothing! actually no-one calls me that......
Guest Spike Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 I didn't think of looking in sent items since I made the presumption that since it hadn't been sent it wouldn't have moved it into there. Thanks for all the help
