Hi m8,

First of all Welcome.

The best thing you can do I think is to preform a hard reset.

Make sure all your data is stored on the SD card and that your contacts are synced with outlook

Because with hard reset you lose it.

Then turn off your phone

press the record button and hold it

pres the on button while still holding the record button

The phone activates

As soon as you get the white screen press the action key and hold it for 2 a 3 seconds

Now you get a menu and choose ISMP it will delete the recent one and replace it with the out of box one.

If you succeed you try again to update your phone.

Good luck.

If you get the canary 3 colors turn off the phone and try again (it can be difficult to hard reset can take some time)

If you had decerted your phone you have to do it again.

Good Luck M8

Try re-running the update if that still does not work try and install the update via another PC.

failed updates used to happen occasionally with the first updates.

Awarner,

I saw that there was a ROM update for the dutch version.

I tried to do the Orange update but there is no update availeble.

The version I have is 1.3.6.25

The version availeble is 1.5

Is this newer seems to be

Can it damage my phone if I try it and it is not the right version?

And If I do a hard reset do I get my old rom back?

It will not damage your phone as such you can get problems as I

mentioned above but they can normally be fixed. As normal we always

recommend you wait for the update to be officially released as upgrading

with an unofficial ROM could invalidate your warranty, but most people

still update :)

As for a Hard Reset would not restore yopur old ROM as updating erases

the current ROM image. The update will either work or you will be told it's

not the right one for the phone, so you can continue to use your phone as

normal.
