Guest jctune Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 I've got an interesting problem on my phone. I have the number for retrieving voice mails programmed into the voice mail number field in settings, followed by a "p" for a pause and my voice mail password. This setup works fine until I turn off my phone. After turning my phone back on, pressing the "1" speed dial for voice mail results in an error that says "Service codes must be entered directly from the phone's keypad". When I go into settings, the "p" has been replaced with a zero. Change it back to a "p" and everything's fine until I turn the phone off again. My phone is an imported tanager that I've got running on ATT Wireless if that helps. Anyone run into a similar problem? I've searched and searched, but haven't found anything that sounds the same.
Guest yoos Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 I have the same problem! I did a search with zero, pause, and pause AND zero... but didn't find any other posts except this one and the other below... I think this should be moved to the bugtrack section. It's definitely a bug IMHO.... http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=88789
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Agreed moved to Bugttrack as there is no need to crosspost in the same section, and I have not heard of this before either :?
Guest jctune Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 At this point I've tried creating a .cab file that re-writes the registry key that stores the voice mail phone number. I've then made that cab read-only and placed a shortcut to the cab in the startup folder. Unfortunately, the cab runs and installs my fix, but it doesn't take. It does take if I run the cab myself outside of the startup process. Really, really weird.
