UNREAL!! This looks like to be a top seller, and I'm so glad it's going to be signed! Well done :)

It's too slow to use well :)

I would prefer if they sold the modules seperately, especially the weather module (even better if they had an aviation weather plugin).

Works fine for me... it's a bit slow when you are picking cities off a list, but you don't change cities that often.

Why would I want seperate modules? Surely paying a straing £10 (initial offer) for all modules would be better than buying them individually for like £5 each?

I only say that cos it's only the weather module I am interested in.

Maybe not having the whole thing installed would make it faster.

One of the options in the alarm's screen is 'Wake Device' ooohh... but no..it doesn't  That's a pity, that would have been a great and much wanted feature. I like it though, it's not slow for me either, weather and currency updates worked very smoothly also. I'll probably buy it.

I think it rocks :!:

The currency converter's brilliant, downloading exchange rates, insteading of keying them in yourself is well cool :)

We are seriously considering a separate weather spin-off application. Our partner supplying the weather stream has a whole host of weather data that we are looking in to.

If we were to release a weather only version - the cost would still be around $9.99 - access to excellent weather data, updated hourly for 56,000 cities world wide costs :)

We would be very interested in users who feel this product would be worth while.

As for your issues with the speed - please let me know which areas you feel are slow and we'll take a look.

Installed the demo about an hour ago and pretty impressed. I can see this one staying on my SPV :) It's really useful.

FizzSoftware - I can't seem to change cities on the weather page? Or rather, I can change the city in the selection box to any of the 4 selected cities, but the weather info doesn't change to that city until I hit 'Fetch Forecasts'. I would have thought that when you do a 'Fetch Forecast', it does it for the four cities?

One other minor bug - the default time zone for Pretoria is incorrect. It should be '(GMT+02:00) Harare, Pretoria' which doesn't have Daylight Saving, and not '(GMT+02:00) Athens, Istanbul, Minsk' which does have DST.

Other than that, it looks really good. ;)

I can confirm that this indeed is the case, surely a bug? NOT GOOD if you have to download a weather update every time you want to change city :?: Other than that, no problems.

FrankyG - I am with you on the 'wake device' option - that would be unreal if it could do that. Are you saying that the option is there but it doesn't work?

We currently only store weather for a single city, but seeing various comments I will add an option to fetch the weather for all four main cities.

This may not make the release - we are now bound by time with the code signing - it will be a free update later.

The reasons : The download for a single city is around 7K, fetching more data will cost more depending on your GPRS tarrif. Speed was the other concern, GPRS ( well mine ) is still not dymanic.

We welcome all comments and suggestions.

I would love a weather only application, easpecially if you could include aviation weather (TAFS & METARS).

I would be very surprised if this did work as you would somehow need the OS to be running when the phone is powered off :?

On the PPC it's possible as you don't power off the device as such.

but good luck if you can :)

I think someone said that the OS IS running when the phone is off? (i.e. the phone isn't actually off?)

Never heard that before :? seems strange that it takes so long to start the phone up and you get a

bootscreen etc :?

Just noticed a small mistake in the weather forecast display. When you select '48hrs' there is a display box that says 'first 12 hrs' and 'last 12 hrs'. I think this should be 'first 24 hrs' and 'last 24 hrs'.

I thought Paul knew everything you needed to know about the SPV (& then some more) !! :)

One of the things I like about this site is that most of the software ppl are here as well - congrats to FizzSoftware for this product. One small favour, the SPV screen is v small - any chance of putting a text legend against each of the "view" screens* so that we know where we are. I can't see the icons too well - but that may just be my tired old eyes. (I'm sure we'll get used to navigating around but this might help a bit ) ??

( * and/or, adding a "views" item to the menu as well ?)

Thx

Well Spotted :)

And don't forget to update the screenshots on your website when you change it too ;)

You've said that you will look at having an option to update the four cities weather forecasts at once, which would be great. What I have noticed though, is that if you get the forecast for one city then go to another one of the cities and get it's forecast, you cannot change back to a city that you already have the forecast for without re-downloading a forecast.

Would you be able to do something about that too? It would be good if you could change to a city and if there is already some recently downloaded weather information, it will be displayed.

Thanks for your quick replies. I think you've got a great little app here :D

I'll have a good think about how I cache weather for additional cities and your suggestion. I'm sure we can sort something out.

I really appreciate all comments - please keep them coming.
