SMS message wont go from today screen

Hi, On my today screen on my rede sc1000 there is SMS (1) even though when i go into my inbox there are no new sms's. In fact there is no new anything. I have also scrolled down the inbox list and made sure all messages are marked as "read". Any ideas?

I have done a soft reset and this didn't change anything.
