Is it possible to synchronize webpages from your pc to smartphone before docking out?

This feature is very essential for GPRS users that are on limited budget like me.

Thanks for any help.

As far as I know, world offline is the only one of its kind for smartphone. If you intend to read a single page web document without the hyperlinks, you can try out the 14-day demo of repligo, works well with majority of desktop documents too, but this one's minus the synchronizing.

Here it is, a freeware application for offline browsing. I've bumped into this when I was surfing a french site. Below is an excerpt from my post in the software section, link below:

http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=89441

With due respect to Xetra, the French developer, I'm posting a review for this beta application.

The freeware Smartsync beta 2 works like Avantgo as the author claims. Unlike other smartphone applications in the market similar to this specifically Sunnysoft World Offline, downloading of websites takes place in a temporary desktop PC directory which later on is synced with the specified smartphone directory. A file, index.htm, is created in the smartphone which contains all the syched websites. This can be added to "Favorites" of Pocket Explorer for offline viewing. It uses HTTrack application for downloading the websites and its links. And uses a so called "rapi" for file transfer between PC and smartphone.

A plugin, notes.exe, is also included for synchronization with MS Outlook.

The design is a bit crude at the moment but the author is kind enough to include the source code in a zipped package which can be obtained from the link below:

The GUI is in french. I've made some modification with the field names for my own personal use as shown in the screenshots below. The author will later on post the English version in his website.

Some things that I've noticed that can be further improved:

1. There's an indicator for Battery, IPSM and Memory, it would be nice to include a Storage Card space meter as well.

2. No option to "Sync Now". As a workaround, you have to toggle between "Sync On" and "Off" which is primarily used for scheduled synching.

3. An error message appears when "Erase All" is clicked, it executes the command but terminates the application, so you have to restart it everytime.

I haven't got the webpage links to work. It connects to GPRS when I click a link within the main page though the links were downloaded  successfully to smartphone. I think this has to do with HTTrack parameters.

Since the source code is provided, VB developers out there are encouraged to further improve the implementation (hope you won't charge anything for it, coz the code is free anyway from the author)  :)

Also, I was thinking of implementing this as another application sort of a "Folder Synchronization" thingy, wherein you can schedule a sync between a pc folder and smartphone folder. This will be useful for programs such as Repligo and MobiPocket which doesn't have a working Auto-Synchro option.  8)

Uy! Ok. Kay Xetra Ulit. The legendary creator of XBar. Thanks spv_dman for the info.

I've tried world off-line but unfortunately it downloads webpages through gprs eventhough you set the internet explorer to browse through passthrough connection. Wala namang settings ang world off-line.

I hope Xetra's software can download through passthrough.

World offline and smartsync is different in terms of platform.

World offline runs on smartphone. You can either use passthrough or GPRS for this one, pero passthrough dapat para tipid since you're going to view it naman offline. I've tried it na and if your phone's passthrough internet is configured properly, you should'nt be seing a "G" on the battery meter. See this post for details:

While yung smartsync sa PC naman and it pushes the files to smartphone. Kaya walang issue dito, always PC internet ang gamit nito.
