Guest Kozesmurf Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 What buggers me when I surf the internet for usefull programs for my Qtek 7070 is all the programes made to make a cent. What these smartphones realy needs is some realy hard workup in the firmware/software, already installed, to fix all the buggs to make this phone work near perfectly. My phone has more buggs then I care to count and is often surfing the net for some updates but all everyone is focusing at is new toy-progs for this phone, witch in some case, makes this phone even more unstable. I also look around for updates giving me the letters æ, ø, å but update sites for this phone on the net is, if they exists, hidden very well. I've heard about updates coming soon (heard about it for the last 2 months now where the roomers is that this is just around the corner) but then again.. This is shurly freeware.. no one posts freeware course they wont make any money on it so.. where to find updates that realy matters for this phone ? not even microsofts own sites can give something this important (this is a microsoft based smartphone)
Guest Will Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 this topic has been discussed at length elsewhere, but the crucial thing is the phone updates are tailored by the mobile operator, so it's them who you should vent your anger at! What version are you on at the moment? Will
Guest tormod Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 to get æ,ø,å on your phone download the Remote Display Control for Pocket PC fro, microsoft: remote display control the next part is on norwegian. I'm not good in writing english  but since the æ,ø,å problems is for us scandinavians shuld this not be a problem  Løsning: 1. Her trykker du CTRL + V for å paste inn bokstaven ( å ) som du kopierte i sted. Når dette er gjort trykker du done! 13. Guest mvh Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 i'm using the Qtek 7070 in australia, which i bought from an Optus store but am using with a Vodafone SIM... s/w version is 3.0 (build 13101), radio version 1.33.00, Total Storage is 7.50MB (I thought it was meant to be 32MB !!!) ROM update versions: Operzator: 1.4.2.46 Manufacturer: 1.4.2.46 Microsoft: 3.0.13101.0 Language: 1.4.2.46 File sys: 3.0.13101.0 does this sound normal to most people ? I find that there are still several bugs present, and simple features that i cannot believe aren't included !!!
Guest Kozesmurf Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 youre versions shows that updates should be awailable.. but where to find ??? I hate it when they hide something this usefull and with microsoft I expect always to have a bugg nearby.. but counting the buggs in my versjon... impossible
Guest sinnerman Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 I bought my Qtek 7070 in Sydney about a month ago. My version #'s are all the same as mvh's. Also, I haven't run into any bugs. So perhaps you would benefit from an upgrade.
Guest Kozesmurf Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 I would beleve so but.... WHERE TO FIND THIS UPDATE ???? hehe yesterday my phone must have had a record in "unable to answer call" with only solution for an exit was to loosen the battery. Also I encountered a new bug. after I beamed a contact I couldnt go anywhere. had to try to beam when the connection was lost and god the message "failed to beam" before it finaly exit the beam program. but the most enoying bug is "unable to answer call" after a conversation. This phone uses almost 2 minutes to boot up. but I'm not selling it 8)
Guest sinnerman Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 I used to have an XDA (MS PocketPC) phone, and had problems similar to what you're describing (and many other people did too). It turned out to be a memory issue. The solution that worked for me was to not install *anything* into main memory. You should ONLY be installing to an SD card. Also, as I've always said, the worst thing you can do to a computer is install software :-) I'm actually half serious -- you should be very careful of what you install, and only install those things that you really want/need. If you don't already have an SD card, or have been installing to main memory, I'd suggest doing a hard reset, and then re-installing your software to the card (buy one if necessary).
Guest NeXur Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Updated ROM available on Qtek.nu (Swedish version)
