Guest tormod Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 Hi! I have a qtek 7070 with win smartphone 2002. Is it possible to make this to support java? The reason I ask is that in my country there is a company that have made a small java aps that allow the user too send sms thru the gprs network (similar to us using msn, but the receiver do not have to be online..) Any one?? Best regards Tormod Torgersen Norway

Guest Arisme Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 it's vendor dependant ... Mitac and (former) Sendo handsets include a MIDP support, for example, which is done by a third party (non Microsoft).
Guest ashley.flynn Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 this is the closest we got http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...&highlight=waba havent heard anything since :)
Guest tormod Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 @Maverick The connection is that in my country ( Norway ), there is a firm that have made a small java applet that let you send sms thru the gprs network. This is a lot cheaper then a normal sms The downside is that both the sender and the receiver have too have the ap.. The price for one sms in Norway is now: $ 0,09 And the price for 1kb thru the gprs network is: $ 0,002 Whats the connection between Java and SMS?
