oops, broke the SMS ringtone!

not entirely sure what i did last night in regedit (i was fixing the ringtones so it both vibrates and rings) But now if i receive a SMS, the SMS tone will loop indefinately untill i reboot the phoone! :shock:

any ideas how to fix it?

the only SMS setting i changed was:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/SMS/

script value set to 'av1pr'

This happened to me when I installed the ringtone program. Unfortunately there was no way found to fix it and I had to get it replaced.

Having said that, this doesn't mean there isn't a solution if you're patient enough! All I'm saying is that if you feel like having a new one this is a more than valid reason to give Orange a call (especially if they're still giving out E100's instead of SPV's!).

hehehe! this is an e100, recieved it on orange care on friday :o

i've managed to fix it now.

i reset the IPSM and found it worked, so that proved it wasn't a hardware fault.

i restored the IPSM again, and after much fiddling in regedit, fixed it by changing the setting to 'av1p' (seems like the little stray 'r' broke it) :)

probably cos you've got repeat set in the sms script.... 'av1pr' is incorrect and should be 'av1p'

and you got it replaced cos of that?

Um, yeah I did get mine replaced because of it. I did post on here first though and couldn't find a way to fix it. I never actually edited the registry myself so how was I to know that was the fault?

Having said that, when I called O they ran a diagnostic on the phone remotely and said there was a fault on it anyway!
