Qtek 7070 - What Optional Accessories???

Just wondering if anyone else out there is as frustrated as I am with this phone's lack of optional accessories? I've had my phone for a few weeks now, and still C2 One Communications can't get hold of any accessories, nothing, zip, zero, null, nada. Who the hell uses a phone without any accessories? There's no cases, no cradles, no headsets, nothing!

My other gripe, is the User's Guide, and in particular the chapter about "Optional Accessories". The first accessory listed under the Optional Accessories heading is the "USB Cradle", ok? Then, the first line of the paragragh says "Your Smartphone comes with a USB cradle". OK, so where is it? On page 13, there's reference to a "DC Connector", again, another optional accessory, but this optional accessory is included in the pack! What is going on here?

Considering the price of these 'works in progress' phones, I will be demanding a refund if Microsoft/Optus and others don't get their act together.

This is nothing to do with Microsoft so your polls a bit pointless

What extras you get with the phone is down to Optus as they are your provider.

EDIT poll was removed as I was answering

Ok, cool. Thought I deleted that poll. Anyway, why isn't Microsoft Australia and Optus jointly guilty? They are the 2 parties that have brought this phone to market here. And, their User Guide doesn't have anything to do with Optus.

Check with some other local dealer for accessories? :)

There's extra battery, sync cables, cradles and HF-equipment for your car available, you just gotta find'em :o

If you're fluent in swedish you could check them out at www.qtek.se, those accessories should be available everywhere.

Thanks for the reply. I've checked with the stores that have the phones and they don't have anything in stock and don't know when/if they will be. Guess I'll just have to wait...

Microsoft just make the OS, everything else is up to the carriers. That being said, Optus did a pretty shoddy job accessory-wise. When I got my Orange SPV, I got a USB cradle, 8 MB SD card, leather case and handsfree headset. I was expecting a similar sort of thing with the Qtek 7070, so I was a bit surprised to see such an empty box. Very much like the fact that it wasn't application-locked though. Being able to choose one or the other, I would prefer it be application-unlocked than packed with accessories (as I always get better ones anyway)

The Qtek uses a standard 2.5mm jack, so you should be able to find an after-market headset that you can use with it. I bought one in the States and it worked fine on my phone. For cases, Covertec have just released a case for the SPV which should fit the Qtek, Organiser World stock Covertec cases and should be getting the SPV one soon. Otherwise you can buy it directly from Covertec online. Piel Frama also sells Qtek cases (their SPV cases also fit the Qtek). Finally, BoxWave sells miniSync cables (with an optional car charger adapter) that you can use to sync and charge your Qtek. I have one and highly recommend them. All of the latter ship to Australia.

Well, what can I say, except thank you for the links and info. I'll give them a whirl and see how I go.

Thanks again!

SPV use many of the accessories as XDA, such as USB/Serial cable, charger, headset etc.

I would assume the Qtek is the same.

Wow. My Qtek (from HK) came with the cradle, 64mb MMC card, dual earpiece headset, anda power lead w/ adapter (to charge handset when not in cradle)- also included european and UK plug adapters. Oh, and the camera too.

I'm using a car power lead for my (former) XDA clone to charge when driving, and use an XDA serial synch cable to synch at work (running NT 4.0).
