Beware Phonix Voice Dial software for SPV smartphone

I recently bought the full version of Phonix Voice Dial.

After trying it out for a number of hours, in many varied ways and using many different distances and volumes I have to conclude that I have bought a 'turkey'.

Yes-I have been to Phonix's web site and gone through their FAQs and read any other advice or/and suggestions they have made.

I have also been in touch with them, Phonix support, and they have NOT replied to my emails. I must say I'm not really surprised.

I have achieved the astounding rate of 100% failure when attempting to use this software!

I have aked Phonix for my money back-I'll keep you posted.

Erm...didn't you try before you buy? Did you look at the related threads on the forum for some advice and useful pointers in using the software? I hope you get your money back if it does prove to be useless to you :?

Dunno mate, I've been using it happily, yes it's voice recognition, but it does work.. (even tho you have to talk quite quickly.)

But maybe the version you have has a problem?

Fonix seem very good at responding to emails, so i'm sure they will sort it out.

My trial version works great.

I am from denmark and it even recognizes all my danish names. no probs for me.

Has anyone purchased the item as opposed to a trial? I nearly bought it but noticed that the site was not secure when it came to entering credit card details. Would you use it without it being secure cos I don't want to give my card details to everyone.... Might as well post them here.

I tried the program for 2-3 hours and thought it was total cr*p.

Then I started saying names quickly with first and last name

"Call Paul Smith Mobile" - and it really works a treat.

Once it recognizes a name, and you say yes to calling that person, it saves a sample of your speech, and it will be even easier to dial that person next time.

I've only had little problems with the Dial a Number function, I guess I pronounce 4 in a weird way. But I'm working on it.

At the moment it really works really well. I just have to test it a lot more in a noisy car .. or on the street etc etc

I think it has a lot of potential!

I'm using the demo version with the Aro cheap plug-in car kit in my car, and it works a treat. Cannot fault it.

I suggest a few complainants may need to re-organise their contacts into the required format, i.e. 1st name, surname etc. The instructions are very precise.

Now if only you would return to the program automatically after ending a call - that was initialized with the program. It/s kinda a pain to turn it off afterwards sme thinks.

First I want to offer you a refund, and still make this work for you.

I would guess that you are using a Orange SPV, if that is not the case, please let me know.

Are you having problems with both digits and contact names?

Also, I am attaching a new version we are working on. Please install and see if you are experiencing better results.

Perhaps I should also complain and get a refund? Trouble is that I really think this program is great and works perfectly for me.

I enrolled for the Orange Voicedial Trial (prior to buying Fonix), and when they phoned to ask me why I hadn't started using it I told them it was because I was already well satisfied with Fonix.

By the way Tambo, I think you're especially fortunate to get the treatment you have done from Fonix when you can't even get their name right!
